Back Abbey
The Back Abbey in Claremont. By far the cutest decor of all the burger places we've tried, and they get an A for food presentation (horrible menu design though, I'd love to redesign it for them). I had the Backyard and Mitch had the Back Abbey burger. Delicious with fresh ingredients, both had original tastes (Back Abbey especially) but we weren't fans of the buns (too soft perhaps needed some toasting on the pan). All in all a delicious bite if you're looking for a place near the Pomona area. (Oh yes and 21 Choices for dessert, good but over priced. Couldn't find a yogurtland nearby)

The Golden State
Mitch and I treated Renee to The Golden State burger restaurant on Fairfax. It's a quaint little place, with brick walls and wonderful contemporary artwork as decor. There's a reason why they only have one--that's right ONE--burger on the menu (there's turkey and veggie alternatives of it of course). It is by far our favorite of all the restaurants we've tried so far down the list. Delicious and perfectly cooked meat (we had medium rare), a hint of bacon, and fresh veggies. The Veggie burger was delicious too. Fries were golden crisp on the outside, fluffy on the inside. Add a mexican coke, arnold palmer, and root beer off the tap for beverages and you've got one great meal. We ended it with their delicious gelato. Superb food outing if i must say. Happy birthday Renee!

Umami Burger
This place is so great, I can't believe I kept passing it all these years that I've been hanging around Los Feliz. It's right next to my favorite shop/gallery Wackos/La Luz De Jesus Gallery. We went there after eating lunch at Umami. Really amazingly fresh perfectly proportioned burgers. I barely touched the fries, a rare occurrence when I eat burgers. That tells you how great the flavors are. Some salt, sweet, and everything in between. Delish! Thanks for recommending it Alex!

The Habit
If you've never been, I suggest you try this place. They have delicious fresh food and the ice cream is to die for. It's the reason why all their milkshakes are the best I've ever had. Mitch is doing his CG2B site on Hamburgers so we were there doing "research" the other day.
