So fall quarter was stressful but tons of fun, especially printmaking. made lots of new friends & tons of other really fun people :) it was a great class, worth being stuck there at 1am doing printmaking. and i got B-, B-, and B in all my classes :) satisfied! package design for GD2 was a pain, pulled an all nighter with the boyfriend and he helped make my book :) i love him!
ate lots of good food. panera + the habit = two great food discoveries.
anyway, christmas has been better than ever. yesterday we had our first exchange gift. and his card to me was my favorite part. he wrote me the sweetest thing i've ever received. then we napped and cuddled and headed to bowling with viktor, his bf, laffy & his date, ashley and pirma. but the wait was too long so me, mitch and pirma went to IHOP and had a delicious late night dinner.

Love Letters
So after my mother and i discussed my cousin's illness today, she showed me some love letters and cards my dad had sent her. they are so sweet, and i am very surprised that my dad wrote such sweet things and had such beautiful handwriting. i actually wasn't that surprised, but it was very unexpected. it's really sweet and technology seems to have taken classic romantic gestures like these away from us, but i'm not complaining. there are plenty of other ways for guys to express how they feel. it's just beautiful to see that my parents actually did this once. it's really heartwarming. my dad was quite a romeo apparently. and the letters are soooo filipino, half english/tagalog and he mentions jollibee in one of them it's just the cutest thing i've ever read in my entire life. it really made my day. now i have strength to go to work :)

Readings
Yup, we got them:

Once you get older you learn to appreciate some interesting things in old cartoons. matt: "omg, beast is reading animal farm" haha. The awesome old school 90's illustrations, the hilarious 80's music, and cheesy one-liners and jokes...oh I love this show. Brings me back to my childhood. There's so many interesting undertones too. I've got 33 episodes waiting for me. Sweet. Oh wait I also have homework and projects to do, so it may take sometime to get to those.
Besides the graphic novels, this is what i've been reading all quarter. Great graphic design books:

Look what I got in the mail today!
clearly, i've become a fan of alan moore since "watchmen", and i love batman already so i figured why not try "the killing joke". plus the illustration is AMAZING. i heard of "y: the last man" from the new GQ issue (robert pattinson is on the cover btw) and it sounded very humorous and appealing plus, again, great and very modern illustrations. lastly, another alan moore phenomenon = "v for vendetta". i watched the film, and i assume the graphic novel is even better (they usually are) so i decided to order that as well. i'm well aware that i'm way behind on that one. i watched the film ages ago and have been wanting to read the graphic novel for quite sometime but haven't gotten around to it.
